MU+PH 2025 Requirements

DIGITAL REQUIREMENT #1 HEADSHOT: 

  • 3 photo options for the Headshot

  • High-resolution, square 1080 x 1080 pixels size

  • Full-Color​




GUIDELINES (Avoid reshoots, follow the guidelines) 

  •  GO GLAM! We want our delegates to look their best in the photos. Having said that, try to temper the use of unnaturally colored contact lenses. We want to see YOUR beauty and the photos reflect the delegate's and the team's taste level.

  • While we appreciate the creativity of the candidate and her team, we've found that often, simpler is better. 

  • Use a plain gray background. 

  • Photos should highlight the candidate's beauty. 

  • Cropping should focus on Candidates' face and upper torso. 

  • Take several options for the facial expression, from smiling to smizing, and submit the one that shows off the candidates' personality best.

  • Remember that this photo will be the public's first chance to see you as an official candidate for MUPH 2024, so make sure that the photo is clear and will show you in  the best light. 





DIGITAL REQUIREMENT #2 HEADSHOT: 

  • 3 photo options 

  • High-resolution, square 1080 x 1080 pixels size 

  • Full-Color

  • Please wear a one-piece swimsuit, 

  • GO GLAM! We want our delegates to look their best in the photos, Having said that, try to temper the use of unnaturally colored contact lenses, We want to see YOUR beauty and the photos reflect the delegate's and the team's taste leveL 

  • Photos should highlight the delegate's body and proprtions, Cropping should focus on and show off the delegate's body, preferably a full shot, 

  • Take several options for the facial expression, from smiling to smizing, and submit the one that shows off the candidates'personality best. 

  • Don't take away focus from the delegate, Remember, the delegate is still the subject of the photo, not what she's wearing or her background, In fact, we advise that you shoot in a studio.

  • GO GLAM! We want our delegates to look their best in the photos. Having said that, try to temper the use of unnaturally colored contact lenses. We want to see YOUR beauty and the photos reflect the delegate's and the team's taste level. 

  • But photos should still highlight the candidate, not the clothes. 

  • Take several options for the facial expression, from smiling to smizing, and submit the one that shows off the candidates' personality best.

DIGITAL REQUIREMENT #4 - INTRODUCTION VIDEO REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 1 30-second video 

  • High-resolution (4K resolution} 

  • 2 sizes: Vertical - 1080x1920 pixels, Horizontal - 1920x1080 pixels 

  • Full-Color

GUIDELINES (Avoid reshoots, follow the guidelines) 

  • We want to GET TO KNOW YOU. Tell us who you are, what your passions are, any funny or interesting thing about you. THIS IS NOT A TOURISM VIDEO.

  • Tell us the basics: Your name, age, and your city/province. Then tell the Universe a fun secret about you! 

  • Limit the video to 30 seconds. Give enough time for you to speak in a relaxed manner so the audience can better understand what you are saying. Make sure that your audio is clear and crisp. Choose a setting that is quiet with no distractions. 

  • ENGLISH IS NOT MANDATORY. Speak in the language you are most comfortable with. If you choose to speak in your native tongue, please provide English subtitles in the video. 

  • Choose a setting or background that is interesting but not overpowering. AVOID low-level lighting or the video from looking too dark.

  • Relax, smile, be engaging. 

  • A big production isn't necessary. Often, simpler is better. 

  • You can choose to wear what you want but make sure it isn't too distracting and it doesn't take away the attention from what you are saying. 

  • We advise against "overproduction," where the set or props overpower or steal the attention away from the candidate. 

  • Check the MUPH seemed pages for examples of past submissions.

  •  This year, the HER STORY video will be made up of 2 parts. first, is a 60-second video of YOUR story-- what drives you, what adversities have you faced, how did you get over that, what drives you. The audience would like to know you inside-out. Don't be afraid to show your vulnerabilities-- this video is meant to inspire others who may have the same experience as you. THIS IS NOT A TOURISM VIDEO. 

  • Limit the video to 60 seconds. Give enough time for you to speak in a relaxed manner so the audience can better understand what you are saying. Make sure that your audio is clear and crisp. Choose a setting that is quiet with no distractions. 

  • ENGLISH IS NOT MANDATORY. Speak in the language you are most comfortable with. If you choose to speak in your native tongue, please provide English subtitles in the video.

REQUIREMENTS:

GUIDELINES (Avoid reshoots, follow the guidelines) 

The 2nd video for HER STORY is the TOURISM VIDEO. Showcase the vibrance and unique personality of your place! The fun, the inspirational, the unforgettable-make us fall in love with your city or province. Take us to the best sites and undiscovered spots. Showcase the unique cuisine, traditions, and products of your hometown. 

Limit the video to 120 seconds. Give enough time for you to speak in a relaxed manner so the audience can better understand what you are saying. Make sure that your audio is clear and crisp. Choose a setting that is quiet with no distractions. 

ENGLISH IS NOT MANDATORY. Speak in the language you are most comfortable with. If you choose to speak in your native tongue, please provide English subtitles in the video.




 

VIDEO PRODUCTION GUIDELINES


LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • English or;

  • Delegates may speak in their own language or dialect, however English subtitles must be provided.

SUBTITLE GUIDELINES 

1.  STANDARD: Open Captions

2.  FONT: Helvetica - Normal

3.  FONT SIZE: see peg below. Estimately 22pt

4.  FONT COLOR: White (hex code: #FFFFFF)

5.  ALIGNMENT: Center

6.  Must use upper and lowercase, not all caps.

7.  Captions must be 1 to 2 lines of text on the screen at a time.

8.  Must use shadow or black highlight if white text isn't visible to the video.





VIDEO ORIENTATION 

  • Landscape (Horizontal) 1920x1080

VIDEO FORMAT 

  • Video must be in MP4 or MOV format 

VIDEO RESOLUTION & SHOOTING 

1.    Minimum resolution HD (1080) to maximum resolution 4K;

2.    Avoid shooting handheld, unless with the aid of a gimbal device;

3.    Must use a drone, mirrorless, DSLR, or prosumer cameras in shooting the video;

4.    Adequate lighting conditions;

5.    Observe proper headroom.

 

AUDIO 

1.    Must use a lapel or shot gun mic for good audio quality;

2.    Must check ambient sounds clear of any distractions;

3.    Must use royalty-free music.

Note: videos with copyright issues will be removed automatically.

VIDEO EDITING 

1.    Delegates must submit an edited video;

2.    Video must be color graded;

3.    Do not use cinematic bars. The video must be in full frame;



4.    The video editor must insert the Miss Philippines North America logo on the upper right corner of the video;

5.    The video editor must include the lower-thirds (graphic name) on the lower-left corner of the frame for 3 seconds.
